Lying within the Arctic circle, the Lofoten offers a spectacular landscape; mountains, snow, incredible fjords and crystal clear water. To top this off, the light can be extremely beautiful during winter, offering prolonged sunrises and sunsets due to the low angle of the sun. When light fades, there is a chance to see the magical northern lights.
During this photo tour, besides capturing great pictures, the emphasis lies on being outdoors, enjoying nature and living the moment. With a group of only 4 participants, we will explore the less known places, do some beautiful hikes to epic venture points and visit some of the more popular and iconic places. We will visit these places around sunrise and sunset, when the light is at its best. If the weather allows, some hiking will be involved. Therefore, a good level of fitness will be required.
Please note that this is not a workshop. It is a photographic tour, focussed on going to the most epic locations when the light is at its best.
We will stay in a beautiful old guesthouse in Reine, which is often described as one of the most beautiful villages on the planet. Reine lies in the heart of what I think is the most dramatic part of the Lofoten, an awe-inspiring place. I have photographed the aurora here, seen white-tailed sea eagles, photographed killer whales and amazing sunrises and sunsets. In and around Reine there are endless photo opportunities. From here, it is easy to travel to various other photo locations.
