Blue Ridge Mountains Photo Tour

The Blue Ridge Mountains are vast, indescribably beautiful and offer a wide variety of landscapes and photographic opportunities. To manage the trip in such a short available time, we will be travelling along just under 400 miles of the Blue Ridge Parkway. As the Blue Mountains are cascading away into the distance, from the top of Mount Mitchell and Grandfather mountain they appear seemingly endless. Mount Mitchell is the highest peak east of the Mississippi river at 6684 feet and is closely followed by Grandfather Mountain. Thankfully, we can drive to the top of both of them for additional photographic opportunities.

The Parkway itself is a great ‘ride’ as it mostly runs right along the top of the ridge. We will use the countless overlooks and narrow trails that run away from them for our photoshoots.

This trip is timed so we can photograph the beautiful Autumn/Fall colours. Hopefully, we'll be lucky to experience a few misty mornings.

There will be many opportunities to photograph rivers, lakes and waterfalls, as well as historic and scenic buildings such as Mabry Mill and the spectacular Linville Viaduct along the way.

We will be staying at lodges and hotels along the parkway, all of which offer very comfortable quality accommodation.

  1. Hi Russell
many thanks for your enquiry. Sadly you may be disappointed in my reply. I’m afraid the tour doesn’t include the cost of flights, so I can’t give you any discount on that account.
It does include transport from the airport to the blue ridge (and back again obviously), so I can give you a small discount on that – lets say $100.
I hope that might mean you decide to go ahead and book anyway; I love it when i get some american’s on my tour – I had two on the tour two years ago, and they made a great addition to the trip. Gave us lots of ‘tips’ / ‘insider information’ on american culture, food, etc etc.
Which part of the states would you be travelling from?
Let me know what you think Russell,
    all the best
    Cheryl
